For the Winter 2019 City of Calabasas Recreation Brochure, I presented the official city bird, the Red-tailed Hawk, as a bold pop art centerpiece, the design celebrates civic pride while reimagining a familiar symbol through modern creativity.
The gallery becomes a metaphor for recreation: a space to pause from daily routines, enter a new environment, and engage with fresh ideas and experiences. Just as art transforms the way we see the familiar, recreation invites the community to discover everyday life in meaningful new ways.
Altogether, the composition suggests that recreation in Calabasas is not only about activity, but about perspective. By reframing what we know, we are reminded that creativity, play, and reflection are vital to community life.
