Story is at the heart of every city.

From sharing important information with residents to celebrating community programs, local events, and the quiet moments in between, the way a city communicates matters.

Through carefully crafted video and purposeful visual storytelling, I have brought a city’s stories to life, sometimes through words and sometimes by removing them entirely, allowing place, atmosphere, and sound to speak for themselves, fostering trust, supporting transparency, and creating experiences that invite people to feel connected to the place itself.

City of Calabasas 25th Anniversary Logo

Created as the official commemorative logo for the City of Calabasas’ 25th Anniversary of incorporation, this design was developed to reflect both the city’s civic identity and vibrant community spirit. The “25” was treated as a bold, dimensional centerpiece to give the milestone a sense of permanence and significance, with the connected form symbolizing continuity, unity, and the idea that Calabasas’ growth has been built through a shared identity.

The stained-glass mosaic style represents the diversity of Calabasas, with each colorful fragment symbolizing the many neighborhoods, cultures, and individuals that collectively shape the city. Though each piece is distinct, they come together as a unified whole, reflecting how Calabasas’ strength and character are shaped by those who live, work, and play there.

At the center of the seal, the Red-Tailed Hawk, Calabasas’ official city bird and a key element of the city’s seal, serves as a visual anchor for the design. Rendered in a stained-glass mosaic style, it reinforces the city’s identity while symbolizing Calabasas’ natural beauty, connection to open space, and the surrounding hills that define the region. The geometric background further supports this theme, blending a modern visual style with the natural environment and giving the composition depth, structure, and a strong sense of place.

The final design balances celebration with authenticity, honoring Calabasas’ history while reflecting the energy and forward momentum of the community.

An Honor to Film Dr. Jane Goodall

A career highlight from my years with the City of Calabasas: my colleagues and I had the profound honor of filming an interview with Dr. Jane Goodall at Headwaters Corner in Calabasas, CA. I’m pictured just to her right, camera in hand, documenting a moment with someone whose life’s work reshaped how the world understands chimpanzees, conservation, and our shared responsibility to the natural world. More than 15 years later, I still remember what it felt like to be in her presence, quietly aware that we were capturing something far bigger than an interview. With her passing in 2025, this photo holds even more meaning.
